Inprentus is a tech start-up based in Champaign, Illinois. Formerly located in The University of Illinois Research Park, Inprentus is a graduate of the small business incubator,  EnterpriseWorks. Inprentus manufactures precision diffraction gratings, serving domestic and international scientists for industrial applications in semiconductor manufacturing, AR (augmented reality) waveguides, and at government operated synchrotron research facilities. Inprentus' custom-made diffraction gratings work like prisms to sort the reflected light into its constituent wavelengths, according to the specification chosen by each individual customer.
